Enrolment
All students with a conditional offer from us must formally enrol with us on the Thursday 22 August 2024 once they have received their GCSE examination results. The enrolment process involves a brief face-to-face meeting in school, where GCSE grades are checked and subject choices are confirmed. It is crucial that prospective students complete the enrolment process to secure their place with us in September. Alternative enrolment arrangements can be made in advance for any student that is unable to attend in person on the day.

How to enrol if you have a conditional offer for HGS

Existing HGS Students
Existing Heckmondwike Grammar School students with conditional offers are invited to enrol into our Sixth Form after collecting their GCSE results. The enrolment process is completed in P001 and P002 and will involve a short meeting with a member of staff to check subject choices and secure the place.
Existing HGS students should aim to have enrolled before 10:30 am to ensure that their offer is secure.
New HGS Students
New Heckmondwike Grammar School Students with conditional offers are invited to enrol between 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. Students should sign in at Sports Hall where GCSE grades will be checked and photographic ID will be copied. Students may be invited to a short meeting with a member of the staff team to review subject choices and discuss any further questions that you may have.
New HGS students should aim to have enrolled before 1.00pm pm to ensure that their offer is secure.
If you have a conditional offer and are unable to attend on enrolment day, please refer to the letter sent out in July.
How to enrol if you don’t have an offer from HGS
Thank you for considering to study at Heckmondwike Grammar School!
Enrolment into Heckmondwike Grammar Sixth Form will take place on Thursday 22 August 2024 between 11:00am – 1:00 pm.
If you have decided that you would like to be considered for a place in our Sixth Form you should register at our Sports Hall via reception at 11:00am. On the day you will need to bring the official summary of your GCSE results as issued by your school (together with any GCSE results you may have obtained in Year 9 or Year 10).
In addition, we also require you to bring a copy of your up-to-date passport, or other official photographic identification together with your UCI number (Unique Candidate Number).
Please enter the school through the main reception. At this point, we will check that you have met our entrance requirements before taking a copy of your ID. You may then be interviewed by a member of our Sixth Form Leadership team who will go through the enrolment process with you.
